Time machine NYC: 2 decades back in time
-- Documentary Photography --
These photos are from 2001 to 2003 and that is almost 20 years ago, right after 9/11.
The first modern age consumer digital cameras came out around 1999/2000 with 2-4 MegaPix. The following photos were shot with digital cameras from 2001 to 2003 which were better but not great by today's standards, but as you see, it doesn't matter if you just want to snap some photo moments and freeze time.

2 decades is a long time and it is worth to see if things in New York City have changed or not. Definitely the taxi cabs. The iconic buildings not so much, of course. The empty site of the former World Trade Center was a reminder for what had happened for years until the new construction came out of the ground. The flag on the NYSE demonstrated patriotism to the people and the world. Poverty, homelessness, and the noticeable gap between rich and poor? It was bad back then and is worse today.
9/11 marked a key event in New York City's history and in 2020 the Coronavirus pandemic put another mark on the city as one of the hardest hit in the nation and world.
